Goethite Pseudomorph After Marcasite
Goethite Pseudomorph After Marcasite from Farafra Oasis, Matruh Governorate, Egypt
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description A fascinating floater specimen of Goethite that has pseudomorphed a spiky ball of crystallized Marcasite retaining its crystal form perfectly. The triangular form is repeated in small sub-faces all over the crystals. Beautiful specimens from the Egyptian desert. Supposedly it is too dangerous to go get these, near the border with Libya.
Locality Farafra Oasis, Matruh Governorate, Egypt
Dimensions 3.4 x 2.9 x 2.9 cm.
Specimen Grade C
