Gemmy Green Pargasite
Gemmy Green Pargasite from Mogok, Sagaing District, Mandalay Division, Burma (Myanmar)
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description These came out in the late 1990s, labeled as being from China; and later it turns out that they came over the border from Burma. They are certainly the most beautiful known examples of this species, normally relegated to a rather dull, unattractive, dark-colored rock-former. This piece is striking, featuring a 1.8 cm crystal of superb color, luster, and saturated green hue. It is of exceptional quality, compared to the common sort still available today when you can get it. Ex. Martin Zinn Collection.
Locality Mogok, Sagaing District, Mandalay Division, Burma (Myanmar)
Dimensions 6.2 x 4 x 3.6 cm.
