Rare Pink Boracite in Matrix
Rare Pink Boracite in Matrix from Alto Chapare District, Chapare Province, Cochabamba Department, Bolivia
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description Here we have a rare pink Boracite specimen from a new find in Bolivia. While these specimens are not a new find per se, they are new specimens from a well known locality. Most people are familiar with the grey Danburites from this locality, but the other staple species found here is Boracite. This piece features a well formed, sharp, pastel orange-pink color modified crystal with pale blue-grey cubic crystals of Boracite on matrix. The largest crystal measures 1.3 cm across. Most often the Boracites from this locality are some shade of green, and to find a pink crystal of this size is rather rare.
Locality Alto Chapare District, Chapare Province, Cochabamba Department, Bolivia
