Stolzite Pseudo-Octahedral Group from Darwin District, Inyo County, California

Description Several greenish-gray Stolzite pseudo-octahedral crystals on brown gossan. These are presumed to be pseudomorphs after Scheelite, where the Scheelite formed first, altered to Stolzite, maintaining the shape of the Scheelite. A few areas have remaining Scheelite that fluoresce white under UV. Ex. Chas. W. Velte Jr. (1914-1987)
