Arsenic with Multiple Growths
Arsenic with Multiple Growths from St. Andreasberg, Harz Mountains, Germany
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description This piece has large, relatively well defined crystals of Native Arsenic topping a mound of more typical rounded arsenic growths. A sparkling microcrystalline druse of Loellingite in the crevasses adds contrast and depth. It surprisingly is not so ugly as most of these are, and the crystals are rather notable for native arsenic. An old specimen characteristic of material from the 1800s , from this mine. ex Charles Velte collection.
Locality St. Andreasberg, Harz Mountains, Germany
Dimensions 4.7 x 3.1 x 3.0 cm.
