Transparent Wurtzite Crystal
Transparent Wurtzite Crystal from Merelani Mine, Lelatema Mts, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description These remarkable crystals, considered by all who have seen them to be the best of species, started to trickle out in early 2013 and were probably mined that previous winter of 2012 from a single pocket. They are phenomenal examples of the species, simply without peer for color and gemminess. They all have some small dings and bruises, but these show good crystal habit. This is a stunning, sharp crystal with high luster and excellent translucency. Joe Budd photos.
