Delicate Radiating Strontianite Spray
Delicate Radiating Strontianite Spray from Rosiclare Level, Minerva #1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin Co., Illinois
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description Unusually large and robust spray of lustrous Strontianite crystals from the Minerva Mine. These slender crystals average about 4 cm in length, and they are translucent to gemmy. The spray has a beautiful uniformity to it, and although some of the tips have broken off, the aesthetics are still quite good. It is thankful that something so attractive and seemingly fragile (it's not - the crystals are quite sturdy, actually) survived the mining process back in 1995. Ex. Ross Lillie.
