Smoky Quartz - Black or dark brown variety of Quartz. It is formed by irradiation of Rock Crystal, and usually occurs at high altitudes. It may also appear similar to brownish Topaz, and may be incorrectly labeled as "Smoky Topaz". Varieties are Cairngorm and Morion.
