Chrysolite - Synonym of Olivine (i.e. contains half Forsterite and half Fayalite -- magnesium content and iron content similar). May also refer to any Olivine that is yellow-green in color.
The term Chrysolite is incorrectly used in describing two minerals:
1) It is sometimes used as a name for Chrysotile, since both names are confusingly similar.
2) It is sometimes used in the gem, trade to describe yellow, transparent Chrysoberyl.
