Borax - Industrially used chemical which is an anhydrous form of sodium borate (Na₂B₄O₇) used in the manufacture of glass and ceramics. It is interesting to note that there is a mineral Borax (Na₂B₄O₇ · 10H₂O), and it is different than the borax chemical, for it contains water. The mineral Borax is an ore of the chemical borax.
