Octahedral Magnetite Crystal Cluster
Octahedral Magnetite Crystal Cluster from Cerro Huenaquino, Totora, Potosi, Bolivia
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description Typically the Magnetite specimens from this locality are closely grown together, and this is a good example of said material. The piece has excellent quality, good size, sharp, lustrous, black, metallic, "Alpine-type" octahedra on matrix. The largest Magnetite crystal measures 3.2 cm. across, which is very good size for the locality. There are no other localities producing Magnetites of this quality today, and there are few localities in the world that have ever produced Magnetite like this.
